If you want to add a twist to your salsa recipe, smoke your vegetables with hickory wood.

4 Large Tomatoes (Smoked with tops cut off)
2 Large white onions (Smoked sliced in pan)
3 Large garlic (Smoked sliced in same pan as onions)
4 Poblano Peppers (Smoked sliced)
4 Anaheim Peppers (Smoked sliced)
1 Jalapeno Peper (Smoked sliced)
2 Large cans of Petite Stewed tomatoes (Smoked in large pan with green chiles)
4 small cans of green chile peppers (Smoked in large pan with stewed tomatoes)
1 Large bunch of cilantro (i did not smoke this)
Red Sea Salt
I smoked with Hickory and Apple wood.
I blended each ingredient after smoking. Then added all to large pot.
Added spices. Let set in fridge over night.
You can really taste the smoke.
